ALL IN THE DETAILS: A Hat a Day Keeps the Bad Hair Away

August 25th, 2016 at 2:10am

If you have hair on your head, you know the struggle of a bad hair day. Especially while living in the city and always being on the run, it is hard to have picture perfect hair every day. This is why hats are the perfect accessory for a Fashionista that can not maintain her mane.

Similar to this Fashionista, I have thick and curly hair. The summer heat makes it uncontrollable which is why I own a large amount of hats. In the summer, it is the most weather appropriate to wear a baseball cap, like shown. Hats can be worn in every season, beanies in the colder months and floppy or baseball hats in the warmer months. Hats complete many simple outfits and look adorable with almost any hair style. They can be worn over a braid, pig tails, up-dos or just down like this Fashionista did.  I personally prefer to wear baseball hats because they look effortless and complete most of the outfits that I wear during the summer months. Baseball hats are perfect for a multitude of summer activities like beach trips, shopping outings and outdoor activities. Plain colored caps, denim caps or caps with clever sayings on them are most appropriate for feminine outfits, so they can be paired with sundresses or skirts and still look like they belong.

This Fashionista has paired her New York Yankees hat with a blue printed romper. This is such an effortless summer look. Her gray Converse with the striped tongue are comfortable and help complete her sporty look. When wearing a feminine print, it is important to not try to mix too many different styles or colors. This Fashionista perfectly mixes feminine and athletic styles. This outfit could be worn to a baseball game, the park or just to go run errands.

How To: Many Fashionistas are intimidated by hats. It is sometimes hard to find the right hat to match your personal style and to fit well. To imitate a look like this Fashionistas that also fits your personal style, go to a store that does not specialize in hats but sells them, like Brandy Melville. There you will find hats that are made to fit well on a female and that comes in a variety of colors, prints and textures.
