ALL IN THE DETAILS: ’90s Bomber Jacket

Vintage clothes are so unique, making them so fun to style. In most cases, you’ll come back from a thrift hunt with items that are one of a kind. The best part about it is that you don’t pay an arm and a leg for it. I love finding items that make me feel like I’m on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The ’90s was such a cool time. Bomber jackets, joggers and snapbacks were the highlight in fashion during that era, which is ironic because we’ve seen those three things takeover. Unexpected patterns and cool colors were the norm, and now Fashionistas/os are adopting the trend all over again.

I found this Fashionista sporting this ’90s inspired outfit on a rare warm day in February. The jacket she wore was red with white polka-dots and tennis rackets. The jacket was bomber style, which is the ongoing trend on campus. She kept the rest of her outfit very simple. Under the bomber jacket she chose a plain white T-shirt. The versatility of a white T-shirt is remarkable. It balances any outfit and goes perfectly with distressed denim. A pair of light-washed distressed denim gave this Fashionista a more grunge ’90s look. Her sandals were ideal for the unusually warm weather, but nothing would stop me from wearing a pair of Vans or classic Converse. The black scarf wrapped around her head was an alternative for a black fedora. Minimal gold jewelry completed the ensemble.

How To: This look would be perfect for a themed party, a relaxed day in class or fun night out with friends. Try your hand at a thrift shop to find something like this to add to your closet. Keep everything else simple with a few basics. A white or black T-shirt would work with a nice pair of skinny jeans and ankle boots.
