ALL IN THE DEATAILS: Falling Out of Summer

Summer is ending and fall is approaching, but if you live in South Florida there isn’t much change in the weather. All you can look forward to is a breeze signaling the approach of what is supposedly considered autumn. While wishing for cold days in order to wear scarves, heavy jackets and boots, South Floridians opt for a lighter look. This Fashionista represents just that with her light open back sweater and slightly distressed jeans. The perfect blend of summer and “fall.”

Weather in South Florida has a tendency to be unpredictable. In order to stay cool from the heat outside and stay warm from the air conditioning inside, this Fashionista chose a light cream sweater. What makes this sweater have a light and airy feel is the thin stretchy cotton material and the loose open back. Her jeans have a more blue hue to them which enhances the brightness of her top. To add a bit of edge and casualness, around the thighs and knees are bits and pieces of distressed material that are lighter in color. To add a touch of classiness, the necklace, with a thin golden chain and glimmering pink, clear and lavender color beads, gives her a cool chic vibe. If you look closely, you’ll see some of the beads have a floral print. She wrapped it around her neck twice for a more dainty look and simply because the necklace was a tad too long.

Whether it’s to school, the café or an outing with friends, her two essentials are her black Henri Bendel satchel and her cell phone. With more pockets on the inside, her satchel fits everything from her laptop to her wallet. The perfect amount of space for a CollegeFashionista. Her cell phone is in her favorite case that says, ‘BOY BOY’ in big black letters. I am guessing she’s a big Beyoncé fan! This Fashionista embodies the transitioning look from summer to fall with an ease of a breeze.

To get a similar style when transitioning from summer to fall, start with lightweight jackets and sweaters. You want a summer version of a fall look which means lightening the heaviness of your clothes. Whether it’s a flowy long sleeve or a light flannel, there’s a way to combine both seasons and make it your own.
