WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

What to Wear

Let’s face it: the only exciting part about preparing a presentation is preparing the outfit to go with it. When you really think about it, your outfit tells your audience who you are before you even speak, leaving a lasting first impression. When done successfully, you’re left with a powerful state of mind and a fabulous outfit for the day like this Fashionista’s.

What originally caught my attention was her fantastic hair! Surely, no one else at UCF has hair quite like hers — bright red-orange with soft wisps of lavender, intertwining into a classy braid. She shows that business apparel can be far from boring by playing up the bold color contrast with a classic animal print top and oh-so-necessary pencil skirt. If you’re in the business field, or have any presentations coming up for that matter, pencil skirts and tops to mix-and-match with should be in your fashion vocabulary. They are versatile pieces that function as a strong foundation for which to layer with and are budget-friendly too!

Simply start your look off with a patterned tank and blazer or keep the focus of your outfit on your skirt by choosing a color block pencil skirt for structure. Accessorize your outfit with a fun pearl necklace or two and black pumps. Don’t forget a stylish bag to carry all of your presentation materials!

One Simple Change: After finishing your presentation, you may want to meet up with friends and celebrate the fact that you won’t have to present again for a little while. Let your hair down, take off the jewelry and just relax. Switch out your pencil skirt for comfortable patterned shorts and a solid cardigan to pull it all together. You’ll be the queen of exotic prints and fashionable speeches.
