Finally it is starting to warm up, the flowers are beginning to bloom and you may just see the sun peak out the clouds every now and then, but what has not changed is the amounts of rain we’ve been seeing coast to coast. Granted, Wake Forest University is southern enough to not be subjected to the snow blizzards going on up north, there are still days when we have to dress for a vast array of different weathers, and this week’s Fashionisto has tackled the weather in his own manner!
Denim is one of those fashion trends that will never tire. If there ever was one thing you can never have too much of, I would like to put denim at the top of that list. With so many creative ways to make it your own, whether you color it, rip it or cuff it, denim is a trend that will forever keep your wardrobe up-to-date and the attention on you. This spring 2013, Esquire magazine and Harper’s Bazaar are endorsing denim to women, men and children of all ages. Whether you cut up some shorts or don a fitted denim vest like this Fashionisto, it will be hard to go wrong wearing denim any time, any day.
This week’s Fashionisto hits us with the question “Didn’t you know denim was in?” While walking around campus I spotted this Fashionisto wearing a pair of fitted khaki jeans, a printed pullover layered under a Levi’s trucker denim vest all pulled together in a neatly-tied bow at the top. Completing this outfit with a pair of KD 5 Energy’s and a White G-Shock Wrist Watch, this Fashionisto is a jeanius!
Hint: To get a look like this week’s Fashionisto, visit your local Levi’s store and get a pair of colored, dark-washed or khaki jeans and pair it with a jean shirt or vest. Add your favorite pair of one-of-a-kind sneakers and make it count! Remember, while the fashion scene constantly creates new ideas, denim is a trend that will stay around for years!
