Christmas and New Year’s are over, but that doesn’t mean we don’t still have three more months of winter weather ahead! Do not fret, because there are style comebacks that will add a little bit of colour and fun to your white, wintery days.
Last year around this time, designers such as Dolce&Gabbana and Valentino were sporting burgundy as a colour for the winter season! Now, a year later, Burberry continues the love for this rich colour in their autumn/winter 2013 menswear show. In the collection, Burberry includes trench coats, sunglasses and sweaters, all showing off this winter colour!
This Fashionisto took the burgundy trend to the next level by pairing it with a matching bow tie; this added more to the styling of the trend. It also allowed the look to transition from a day to night outfit by being casual while still looking smart.
The glasses, layering, shoes and bow tie give a very Brad Goreski feel to the outfit. But you do not have to be a celebrity fashion stylist to achieve this look, you just have to have the right eye for styling and check out stores such as Zara, H&M and Urban Outfitters. All of these affordable stores seem to love mixing and matching this colour just as much as I do!
Hint: Layering for the winter is not only practical, but also stylish. Adding a pop of colour such as burgundy is a great way to stand out without being overpowering.
