FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Daphne Dincer

Fashionista Spotlight

Pulling off an effortless style is easier said than done. In many cases, trying to look like you’re not trying (while still trying to look good, of course) is just too much trying! Exhausting, right?  Well, somehow this Fashionista masters exactly that. Her laidback look whispers simplicity while simultaneously screaming trendy!

Name: Daphne Dincer

Major: Psychology

Year: Senior

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Daphne Dincer: I would describe my style as feminine/bohemian, with a bit of an edge. I like to wear comfortable things that look flattering on me.

CF: Has your style changed throughout college?

DD: Yes! I used to buy things that were trendy but not necessarily practical, and I definitely wore things that were a little flashier. Now I focus on looking good in what I put on and being comfortable, even if that means being a little more casual.

CF: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about college fashion?

DD: Invest in good quality basics that you’ll get a lot of use out of. Don’t be a slave to trends or labels and wear what looks good on you!

CF: If you won a shopping spree where would you use it and what would you buy?

DD: Joie! I would get pretty tops and fun, easy dresses.

How To: In order to put together your own effortless look begin by emulating this Fashionista’s laidback ensemble. Start with a similar loose-fitting cream knit sweater. The loose fit will allow your sweater to hang off the shoulder, adding a sense of comfort to your casual, yet class-sexy outfit. Embrace this comfy look by pairing your sweater with basic leggings and solid black lace-ups. The black on black will complement the outfit's simplicity. Finally, the cherry on top: your accent accessory! Complete your look with an edgy geometric print scarf and you’re good to go!
