STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: #TFTC—Too Fleecy To Care

Style Advice of the Week

This past Homecoming weekend was nothing short of an absolute blast. Backyards were filled with UD students and alumni alike, grilling food and raging to our favorite anthems. (Don’t act like Wagon Wheel isn’t still stuck in your head.) Apart from the overwhelming sea of blue and yellow colored apparel, was the predictable assortments of matching fraternity wear. The customary long sleeve-T’s were naturally overabundant and overly clichéd. Homecoming slogans ran across chests and a mix of neon and patriotic colors persisted to prevail. It was not until I spotted this Fratty Fashionisto that my disbelief in fashionable frat-stars diminished.

The brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon present: The fleece vest.

Genius.

Sig Ep definitely took it upon themselves to stand out among the rest of the bros this Homecoming weekend. How hasn’t anyone thought of this before? A classic fleece vest is definitely fall’s most investible item (no pun intended), as it can be worn beyond a single HC weekend, and makes for an effortless layering piece. Whether worn over a graphic T, as this Fashionisto opted, or over a plaid button-down shirt, this casual add-on makes you look like a bona fide stud.

Expectations for next year’s Homecoming attire have definitely just been raised to a whole new level. Break the norm and go for something a little bit more daring than the standard long sleeve-T. Patagoina and The North Face have an awesome variety of fleece vests to choose from in a huge selection of colors and styles. Stay comfortable, warm, and above all else, fratty.
