T’was the night before finals, when all through the school, venti lattes became accessories, so we all look like fools.
All of us, that is, except for this week’s Fashionista who went beyond the solitary coffee cup accessory and incorporated a multitude of wintry add-ons. No matter how many exams you may have lined up, it’s important not to get caught up in your all-nighter study attire and keep your best style sense intact. In fact, it’s been proven that dressing well results in more efficient test taking. Baffling, but true.
This Fashionista managed to stay cute and comfortable while taking on her busy exam schedule by piecing together a delightfully warm and fuzzy combination. A chunky, oversized sweater is the greatest starting point for building a killer layered look. The cut out shoulder detailing gave this Fashionista the perfect opportunity to layer on a thick-knit infinity scarf where the contrasting textures against her skin made for a super sultry look. To top it off, she embraced an adorably crocheted ear warmer that managed to be just as equally gorgeous as it is functional. My favorite aspect of this Fashionista’s outfit is that each individual garment has a fun, unordinary edge—extracting as much dreariness from exam week as possible.
To attain a look similar to this week’s Fashionista, incorporate as much wool on wool action as you can. When it comes to layering: the more the merrier. This winter, stock up on bulky scarves and tasteful headwear. If you love this Fashionista’s ear warmer as much as I do, be sure to “like” Bonneterie on Facebook to keep up with the latest events and trunk shows on campus. Bonneterie is an original accessory line created by one of UD’s very own, Caroline LaPrise. Her line specializes in beautiful, neutral, hand-crocheted, woolen bands—the ideal accessory for any chilly day (and the ideal holiday gift as well!) Either way, as long as you accessorize with more than your daily Styrofoam cup of caffeine, your week of finals will appear far less bland than imagined.
