FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Gina DiPierro

Fashionista Spotlight

During the summer, it is tempting to purge our closets of sweaters and jeans. Yet, there are days where a little cover-up is needed for those chilly, but sunny days. I spotted this Fashionista, who stayed true to the patterns of summer and managed to stay warm in style.

Name: Gina DiPierro

Major: Whittier Scholars

Year: Senior

CollegeFashionista: How would you define your style?

Gina DiPierro: I try to be laid back and dressed up at the same time. My style icon is Lauren Conrad, so anything she says to wear, I will wear it.

CF: What are your favorite stores?

GD: Kohl's of course, because they sell the Lauren Conrad Collection. Macy’s is definitely my number one favorite place to shop. I love their clothes. Charlotte Russe is also one of my favorites.

CF: What is the staple piece in your wardrobe?

GD: I like to wear watches because they can dress up an outfit. My black blazer is also one of my favorite pieces. You can dress an outfit up with a simple black blazer.

How to: To recreate this laid back look, start with a floral printed tank top. Next, find a light sweater that you can easily put on if there is a slight breeze in the air. Opt for something that complements the floral pattern, such as gold studs or sparkle tones, which are displayed by this Fashionista. The play on patterns and textures will appeal to the eye. Then pair the outfit with a comfortable pair of dark wash skinny jeans. Slip on some comfortable sandals and pair of black sunglasses that are large enough to protect your face from the sun. Now your summer look can handle any weather situation.
