FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Emma Johnson

Fashionista Spotlight

The sundress. Every girl has her go to summer dress when the weather warms up. It's your go to look that never fails. It's comfortable enough for a lazy day spent with friends, appropriate for work, but still stylish for a party or night out. Today's Fashionista shows us that the only thing you need to look summertime chic is simply a sundress and a pair of sandals. Emma is wearing a a green and purple print sundress with navy blue detailing at the neck and waist. She paired this with a pair of light brown sandals. What I like most about this look is that the print is different than the typical floral you commonly see, making it unique but also keeping it fresh for spring and summer.

Name: Emma Johnson

Major: Fashion Industry Management

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Emma Johnson: I would call it comfortably chic.

CF: Who are your fashion icons?

EJ: I love the personal styles of Pippa Middleton and Vanessa Hudgens, along with the styles of Michael Kors' designs.

CF: What's your advice for anyone who wants to imitate your style?

EJ: You don't have to spend a ton of money on trendy pieces. Sale racks are you best friends! If its a staple garment, like a LBD or a pair of black pumps, don't be afraid to spend a little extra money. They will be in style forever!

How To: To copy Emma's look, just follow this equation: cute patterned sundress + sandals = simple summertime chic. I found patterned sundresses from Francesca's Collection, the boutique where Emma got her. Try this vibrant orange shift dress with a pop of yellow and blue. Or, this bright blue and green tribal print dress that has a cinched waistline and flared skirt. Once you find the perfect patterned sundress for yourself, you'll be wearing it all summer long.
