It’s edgy, fun and the perfect thing to sport with your outfit. No I’m not talking about the perfect rocker beau- I’m taking about studs! The detail has been spotted on nearly all of our favorite accessories. From shoes to headbands and everything in-between, studs have been adding an instant pop of punk to outfits all summer long.
This edgy trend got its start on the runways of top designers like Alexander McQueen. The iconic fashion brand popularized the rocker chic style with studded sky-high summer sandals. The high-end fashion label Fendi also created some bold designs with studs when they created a line of handbags covered entirely with plastic studs. These bold fashion creations are over the top and fabulous. However, if you want to rock this trend without donning a stud-encrusted tote on your shoulder, don’t worry. This summer is all about working in studs as a detail that will compliment your look, not over power it.
A great way to rock the stud trend is to pick a studded-out accessory and make it the centerpiece of the look. Our Fashionista did just that. She rocked her awesome studded black and gold belt with black waist high shorts, a white V-neck and neutral sandals. The solid colors of her outfit made her belt stand out and pulled her ensemble together by creating a focal point within the look.
Not only is this punk inspired accessory trend an easy way to give a simple outfit a new feel, its also easy to find a look that fits your own personal style. Like mentioned earlier studs have been found on everything, from belts to blazers to rings and bangles. If you are a more classic Fashionista try a studded headband. I am obsessed with this flush pink with gold studed one from Forever 21. However, if you like to experiment with your fashion choices try rocking a pair of studded-out sunglasses, like this large-framed black pair from ASOS.
So whether you choose to go subtle or all in, add a little pop of punk to your life this summer with some rad studded details.
