ACCESSORIES REPORT: Yearlong Treasures

Accessories Report

Some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe are the items I can wear all year long. These are items I can always count on to work with countless outfits for countless events, no matter the season. I’m sure I’m not the only Fashionista out there with accessories I use over and over again. This Fashionista took a spring scarf and worked it in to a stylish transitional outfit.

The weather plays tricks on us here at Misericordia, so I think it is key to keep pieces like these around. I spotted this Fashionista after a snow storm, but the temperature was unseasonably warm for a December in Pennsylvania. By working this yearlong accessory into her wardrobe for a day she was able to save solely winter items for chillier occasions.

The key to picking pieces that will work for any season is sticking to ones that will work with neutral shades. The Radiant Rose Lightweight Scarf from Charlotte Russe has dark shades, just like this Fashionista’s scarf is primarily black. The pops of color work to bring attention to the outfit and work best paired with everyday shades. Another option from Old Navy, the Women’s Floral Print Fringe Scarf, comes in four different shades that would definitely work in any season for any occasion. The key is pairing them correctly. For example, you might think the Blurred Pigments Loop from Anthropologie would only work in the spring or summer months, but paired correctly with brown shades, this scarf could work at any time. It would definitely be one I would keep around.

So Fashionistas, keep your eyes peeled for key accessories to treasure all year long.

Spotted: rag & bone offers a number of different color options in their scarves for their spring 2013 collection. All options have white backgrounds, making them super versatile.
