The popular footwear for Misericordians during the winter months are boots. Walk into any classroom, lecture hall or dorm room and I can almost guarantee someone will be rocking a pair. With so many Fashionistas to compete with, a key to picking out a perfect pair of boots is making sure yours will stand out in a crowd. And, while yes, everyone needs a staple pair of shoes to count on to go with every outfit, everyone also needs a statement pair of boots in their winter wardrobe.
I spotted this Fashionista as the fall semester was coming to an end and became immediately drawn to her footwear. Her two-toned western inspired ankle boots caught my eye from across campus, paired with her feminine, white lace dress. The two pieces complemented each other as she added some flair to her girly dress with these cowboy inspired kickers.
I immediately put these two-toned boots onto my wish list and began searching for a pair of my own. The Mia Girl western booties from DSW come in three different color options for more of a variety. I love the cognac and blue pairing. For a style with a larger heel, try Vince Camuto's Dassia. The distressed feel of this military-inspired boot gives it a two-toned vibe, perfect for a night out with friends. My favorite pair of the moment come from Forever 21. The distressed bootie comes at an affordable price and offers a more laid-back feel with the buckles and canvas material. No matter where you find your two-toned item make sure to show them off in a populated area. These boots are made for walking–and showing off.
Spotted: The Ralph Lauren lace-up combat boots from the spring 2013 collection has a worn feel, giving it a multi-colored look, perfect for the cool winter months.
