ACCESSORIES REPORT: Tribal Envy

Accessories Report

This Fashionista's incredible outfit seriously wowed me this week, especially its tribal-inspired accessories.

It’s not easy to make tribal prints match each other, and I consider that one of the trickiest things about putting together an outfit with this style in mind. Usually, the best way to go is to choose one unique bohemian print and use basic, solid colors in the rest of the look to complement and not clash. However, this Fashionista makes her offsetting prints and colors work in phenomenal ways that result in an overall look that almost literally blew my socks off.

She starts with a fun printed tee with bright, eye-catching colors and pair of light tan cords as her base. Then, she adds a completely individual and eccentric piece: her angular tribal vest (try this one from Quiksilver). To finish her upper half, she adds a cropped army green leather jacket from Marc New York that complements the lengthier poncho in a surprisingly sexy fashion. For footwear, she adds another bold piece: a pair of two-tone heeled boots with fur-lined details (try a similar pair from ModCloth). For a finishing touch, she sports an awesome tribal-inspired jeweled headband (like this one from Alexis Bittar) over her long and flowing hair.

In all honesty, I would not be surprised if this Fashionista’s outfit became the new front page of the Free People website. She masters the bohemian and tribal looks to the nth degree and also manages to remain completely individual in her choices. Fashionistas/os, take a page out of this Fashionista’s book this week and create your own tribal look with accessories that really stand out and scream your own personal taste.

Everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to tribal wear. You can choose from bright colors, bold patterns, beads, flowing skirts and woven vests. There are also different cultural influences, like African, South American or Pacific styles. Choose your own favorite and take it from there! Have fun and make it your own, Fashionistas/os.

Spring and summer are not far off, Fashionistas/os, and if you are keeping an eye out for beautiful summer accessories, these Jeffrey Campbell sandals will certainly make a fashion statement.
