Nothing describes vintage better than pastel colors, flowers and lots of gold-toned jewelry! But it’s not always about looking pretty and perfect, don’t be afraid to show a little bit of your dark side.
This Fashionista went for a vintage-retro look with an edgy streak. She wore a pastel pink loose fitting shirt and paired it with an Aztec print skirt, both from Charlotte Russe. The pretty pastel color juxtapose with the dark edgier pattern, making her outfit really stand out from the crowd. She also mixed in a pair of old ripped up leggings that she used to wear to dance class—which I think is an excellent way of recycling tattered clothing. If you have ripped stockings, don’t just throw them away! You can always pair them underneath a skirt or shorts to toughen up a look.
What really drew my attention to this Fashionista was her collection of jewelry. Her choice of jewelry really compliments the pastel pink shirt creating a vintage appeal, while toning down the tough girl leggings and dark skirt. She started of with a layered necklace featuring pastel green and coral jewels. She also wore a gold cuffed bracelet and beautiful porcelain flowered bracelets that is reminiscent of the baroque era—a huge trend this season. For rings she decided on a simple silver ring along with another ring featuring flowered details. All jewelry featured is from Forever 21. She completed the look with some neutral high heels.
Spotted: Baroque inspired accessories with heavy flowered details are a hot new trend on the runway and can be found in Dolce&Gabana's fall 2012 collection.
