For those of us who aren’t necessarily die-hard rock 'n' roll, studs are a nice way to get in touch with our wild side without too much of a commitment. If you also thought that studs couldn’t be classy—just because they’re punk—think again! Gorgeous designers such as Burberry Prorsum and Christian Louboutin took the trend to the next level with studded biker jackets and spiky loafers, respectively. Burberry presented this “rock collection” in spring 2011 and Louboutin’s shoes have been in style since 2009.

Nonetheless, it was neither of these two brands that influenced me to search for studded Fashionistas. My inspiration came from the spiky jean jacket Demi Lovato wore on X Factor and Valentino’s studded purses seen in their spring 2013 line. Let’s also not forget the maison’s studded heels seen in their fall 2012 collection. More brands that have recently invested in this trend are Stuart Wietzman with studded boots and Giuseppe Zanotti, a brand with a very daring taste for studded shoes. Other names on the list are Jeffrey Campbell and Jimmy Choo.

If you want to spend a lot less, try these rock 'n' roll platforms from Nasty Gal, or these studded loafers from Steve Madden. You may also be interested in these spiked boots or these laced and studded boots (which I’m obsessed with), from ASOS. Also, how cool are these studded rain boots?  Check out these options and find out which spiky shoe fits your taste!
