This past spring, fashion reinvented the peplum. As the seasons began to change, this trend showed no sign of waning. The silhouette that the peplum creates is the perfect mixture of fitted and flared. I believe the greatest part of the peplum trend is that it’s incorporated into so many different styles. We saw it on gorgeous fall coats and cocktail dresses all over the runway. With fall and winter soon amongst us, I’m always on the hunt to see how fellow Fashionista’s will find ways to integrate peplums in their everyday wear.
This Fashionista was spotted wearing a stunning Anthropologie peplum jacket. The jacket is a fresh yet spectacular piece. It can be worn with a shirt underneath or as she sports it, as a shirt. The combinations that can be made with this jacket make it a must-have on my holiday shopping list. The peplum style is a great way to up the grandeur of any outfit. With this Fashionista’s outfit it takes the black ensemble to the next level. Her jewelry and boots only add to the beauty and simplicity of her outfit. Her distressed Frye boots are an art piece within themselves. The combined colors of metallic, browns and blacks truly would look great paired with anything. With this peplum top in particular, it’s a killer combination.
It’s always fun to mix sentimental and costume jewelry as a way to express who you are and where you come from, just as this Fashionista does with her amazing crystal statement necklace. The necklace is simple enough to be worn during the day to transform any outfit and can also easily be worn out on the town as well. Her bracelets give the ultimate personal touch to her ensemble. The engraved bracelet was a birthday present and the others basic purchases. Keep your eye trained this Black Friday not only for jewelry that will compliment your nice pieces, but peplums that are the hottest trend this season!
