Accessories Report

Ah, Paris! If only we were strolling down the streets of Paris with french pastries and Chanel shopping bags… but alas, we are not. So instead we find other ways to feel that “joie de vivre” or Parisian chic magic: our clothes. Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world and it's style is distinctly recognizable. As soon as I saw this Fashionista I knew she felt the same way I did. She looks like an artist that just came from a walk along the Seine in 1954. Between the beret, the ankle strap flats, the polka-dots and the black, she’d fit right in. I’m a huge fan of vintage and polka-dots definitely fall into that category. Stella McCartney featured a beautiful peplum polka-dot top in her fall 2011 RTW collection. And hey, Marc Jacobs loves polka-dots. That’s all you need to know. Cropped polka-dot pants are everywhere you look these days, as well. J.Crew has the perfect pair. Dress them up with heels for work, or dress them down with flats for a more casual look.

As far as the beret goes, that’s just a classic. Hats are perfect fall accessories and you can find one in any color at a fairly inexpensive price. Charlotte Russe has a leaf printed, brown knit beret that is perfect for fall! The ankle strap flats may just be my favorite part of this look. Another classic—this shoe will never go out of style. Old Navy has the perfect black suede flats that can go with almost any outfit. Every girl needs a black shoe to go along with that LBD. And if you’re still on par with the neon trend, ModCloth has just what you need.

Channeling a little bit of Audrey or Grace in your daily outfits is just the ticket for a brighter day. If you can’t go to Paris, bring Paris to you.

Spotted: Haider Ackermann went with an all black ensemble in his most recent collection and ADAM did the same with a vintage polka-dot pantsuit for the spring 2012 show.
