This week’s Accessories Report is inspired by a trend that has gone from confusing me to completely intriguing me: sporting two different earrings. The first time I saw this trend, it kind of made me wonder whether the girl wearing one dangly earring and one little diamond stud had simply forgotten to change one of her earrings from the night before. Clearly, I was wrong.
I spotted this Fashionista on campus working this trend in a way that completely inspires me to try it myself. In her right ear, she wore a small, gold stud. In her left ear, she wore a dangling gold and shark-tooth-esque earring. These mismatched earrings paired with her beige leather jacket and her orange ombré scarf make for a perfect fall outfit.
Topshop is a great go-to for edgy accessories, especially when it comes to jewelry. If you want to try the mismatched earring trend for yourself, I have a few options for you. First, there’s the Mismatch Skull Cross Earrings, which definitely will amp up the drama on any outfit. If you want to forgo a dangling earring, try out a set of mismatched studs. I love the Mixed Outlaw Stud Earring Pack by Freedom at Topshop. Finally, if you want to incorporate this year’s trend of the ear cuff, there’s the Mismatch Cross and Ear Cuff set that features one long dangling cuff and a dangling cross earring.
