ACCESSORIES REPORT: Geometric Jewels

Accessories Report

Ever since Crayola created sea-foam green color markers, the shade has been one of my absolute favorites. How could you not love it when it's so bubbly, bright and beautiful? This is the exact reason why this Fashionista caught my eye right away with her breezy maxi dress with the most gorgeous sea-foam green.

She exemplified the springtime in her attire, which is both refreshing and a nice change of pace from the usual neutral fall palette. The fall season does not mark the end of bright colors, dresses or tank tops! Especially because the weather has been so lovely here on campus, students are holding back on the scarves, cardigans and boots and embracing spring/summer fashion one last time before the chill.

A closer look at this Fashionista’s outfit revealed very simple yet subtle accessories that complimented the tank dress. She donned a pair of geometric style earrings along with a quarry stone necklace. These particular antique styles have become extremely trendy in stores like Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.

I recommend pairing these sorts of rugged accessories with a feminine ensemble to create a bit of edginess. I personally love styling lace dresses or crochet sweaters with geometric studs and arrowhead drop earrings. Free People style is an amazing example of this combination, so if you ever need inspiration, their online catalogue is a great place to start.

Spotted: Alexander McQueen showcased geometric style necklaces in their fall/winter 2012 collection, and so did Lanvin for spring 2013.
