I have been on the lookout for anything that screams fall. Such as the top of a maple tree with changing leaves falling to the ground kind of fall. The fashion gods answered my prayers and put a Fashionista sporting a very stylish trench right under my nose (well, they kind of put her behind me actually). Given the very low temperatures lately in Toronto, students at the University of Toronto are starting to realize that fall is not willing to compromise. As a result, you can layer it on like it was the middle of winter or you can do what this Fashionista did — she layered in style.
I couldn’t decide what I liked more about her trench coat. Maybe it was the slight bubble sleeves or the off center button style, maybe it was the round lapel. I love all three because they combine to make one very stylish piece.
When I think of trench coats, Burberry instantly comes to mind. This simple but stylish coat will make a great addition for basic necessities. However, for the Fashionista/o on a budget, it helps to figure out what you like in a coat, so don’t go spending too much on your first one, as there is no shortage of versatility in style and in price. This coat from H&M is the perfect alternative, sporting a very trendy peter pan collar and priced under $100.
The good thing about a trench coat is that it never goes out of style. It will always come in handy during fall, winter and beyond!
Spotted: Trends were on the runway of none other than Burberry Prorsum for spring 2013.
