When interviewing for a fashion internship, it is imperative that one brings their sartorial excellence. Bland skirt suits, plain frocks and orthopedic flats just don't cut it in the fashion world, and singularity and gutsiness are key.
This gorgeous Fashionista was on her way home from an interview with Nylon magazine, dressed to impress and clearly in the know of how to put together an ensemble for such an occasion.
Her A-line leather skirt (something I have been searching high and low for!) was my favorite piece in her outfit besides her jewelry because of its flattering high-waist and wonderful ability to transition from summer to fall to winter with ease. An Urban Outfitters purchase, the skirt was an affordable acquisition worth hunting for. By adding a professional button-up shirt with a pop of playful mint green, this Fashionista flirted with fashion while remaining office appropriate.
As a HUGE fan of wearing statement necklaces that are often purely metal, I couldn't get enough of this Fashionista's gold collar. Its length makes it perfect to be worn under the collar of a buttoned up shirt (as seen here), yet its beautiful shape and interesting simplicity lend it to be just as pairable with a LBD for a night out. Adding another hint of urban metal jewelry to her wrist, she also wore two gold bangles — one with tiny spikes surrounding its circumference.
This Fashionista's addition of spicy elements, such as the bracelet and leather skirt, to a sweeter look created by her blouse and pearl earrings served up a nice juxtaposition of style that worked flawlessly — I loved it!
Spotted: Calvin Klein sent some of his fall/winter 2012 models down the runway clad in gorgeous tea-length black leather skirts with metallic accessories.
