ACCESSORIES REPORT: A Jacket to Die For

Accessories Report

My jacket to die for is a Long Cotton Gabardine Leather Trim Heritage Trench Coat from Burberry. It is definitely no secret that I have an unhealthy obsession with Burberry’s mind-blowingly flawless trenches. However, on my college budget, my dream of owning this gorgeous jacket is still, unfortunately, just a dream. But all of us Fashionistas/os know that there are plenty of other jackets to die for out there to ogle over within more affordable price ranges — this Fashionista’s jacket is definitely one of them.

When I spotted this Fashionista’s absolutely beautiful jacket, I could not stop staring. With small multi-colored scalloped patches, this lightweight mid-length suede jacket is quite obviously a one-in-a-million piece. And this Fashionista truly rocks it by highlighting the warm brown tones of the piece with complementary accessories. Her matching brown leather shoulder bag and cute brown leather lace-up ankle boots balance perfectly with her patterned jacket. Seeing this Fashionista’s unique jacket made me realize how rare yet how chic patterned jackets are. This Fashionista’s gorgeous jacket has made me believe that patterned jackets like this one should become a staple piece in every Fashionista/o’s wardrobe.

I encourage you Fashionistas/os to look up patterned jackets this week. I believe you’ll be surprised by how many phenomenal pieces are out there under this category. There is everything from sexy and edgy, like this floral jacket from Stolen Girlfriend’s Club, to cute and vintage-inspired, like this piece from Antik Batik. My personal favorite that I came across is this geometric print jacket with cropped sleeves from Giambattista Valli.

Fashionistos, there are also plenty of patterned jackets available for you too. If you are looking for something more casual, I would suggest this light Volcom jacket — perfect for rainy or windy days. Or, if you are looking for something a little bit more eccentric, check out this Miko Spinelli bomber jacket.

Spotted: There is nowhere better to look for crazy yet magnificent patterns than designer Betsey Johnson. Her fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection contains absolutely stunning patterned jackets as well as excellent examples of accessory accompaniments for said patterns. Definitely check out her collection if you are looking for some pattern ideas. Have fun!
