What Fashionista doesn’t love a deeply colored gem ring, necklace or pair of earrings? If it was appropriate to wear giant deep purple and teal bling studs everyday, I would be rocking it. However, while it’s not always the time or place to wear big, sparkling jewelry, the holidays are the perfect time of the year to incorporate jewel tones into your wardrobe.

This week’s Fashionista channels her inner jewel in her jeans and jacket. Her deep blue-green denim looks amazing against the rest of the neutrals in her ensemble and is clearly the focus of her outfit. These American Eagle jeans were under 50 dollars, this Fashionista said, so you can be sure you’re getting jewel tones for a steal. She pairs her jeans with a light gray sweater with small stripe designs, some of which have the blue-green color from her pants. On top of her sweater, she models a caramel-colored leather jacket, complete with faux-fur trim (the color reminded me of those chocolate diamonds that are so heavily advertised on TV this time of year!). I love how this Fashionista was bold enough to wear a non-traditional colored leather jacket with equally nontraditional colored denim; they work off of each other and accentuate the deep hue of her jeans and warm-tone of her jacket.

Finally, this Fashionista wears a fabulous pair of wedge booties, whose height is perfect for everyday wear. She can comfortably walk around campus in these deep-brown leather booties but still has that high heel strut that is so sought after. So Fashionistas, give this look a try! Incorporate jewel tones into your jeans, sweaters and even your jackets or heels if you dare—you’ll be sure to sparkle like the jewel you are!
