Fashion is and always will be an art.  A different kind of self-expression where one is free to be whoever they want to be on any particular day.

This Fashionista embraced the faux leopard persona as I caught her prowling on the University of Toronto Campus. Sporting a very furry yet so cozy looking leopard coat, there is no doubt in my mind that she was not only warm in this unpredictable weather but stylish as well. In all her originality, this Fashionista expressed herself in an ensemble that she obviously felt comfortable in and she rocked it! Sporting two trends, faux fur and animal print, there is no shortage of style and comfort, with animal print being a trend that keeps resurfacing in today’s fashion scene.

Pieces like this one are a dime a dozen, so I would suggest a local thrift store as your first point of interest. If you can’t find this gem at the thrift store, Macy’s has a very affordable and similar style. If you want something resembling more of a coat, then this one from Nordstrom is sure to fit the bill.

I challenge you to embrace your inner animal and express yourself in all your “faux fur leopard-ness”.

Spotted: Roberto Cavalli channelled the faux in his fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection.
