On warm fall days in the south, Fashionistas must play with accessories that suit the temperature. As a scarf or a caplet are far too warm to accessorize with, I find that many Fashionistas on campus are upping their jewelry, rather than fabric based accessories.
An accessories trend that always seems to re-emerge in different forms is the “Arm Party” style. In the Arm Party style, a Fashionista layers bracelets of all different styles together. This style is very fun and can be tailored to any fashion aesthetic. It is also perfect for a Fashionisto or Fashionista with an eclectic style. For this season, the major player of the arm party trend is the boyfriend watch.
This Fashionista decided to rock silver and gold. This can sometimes be an inharmonious mixing of materials but in this style, they work very well together. This accessories style is something that you can really express your eclectic interests or fusion of styles within. This Fashionista decided to pair a gold and brown tortoise Michael Kors bracelet, a Michael Kors boyfriend style watch, a Pandora bracelet, a silver charm bracelet and a wood and silver bracelet picturing patron saints all together. If this description of the mix of these very diverse bracelets was only read and not seen, it would sound like a jumbled mess of conflicting styles. However, by mixing the sizes and materials and by pairing it with the boyfriend watch, like a book-end at the end of her wrist to hold it together, this arm party is stylish and complete. The fun arm party goes perfectly with her outfit, reinforcing the fun feel of her polka-dot shirt and the embellishment feel from her studded boots.
