I was just sitting at the library Starbucks, minding my own business, when this Fashionisto casually strolled in. My head popped up, my eyes locked in on his outfit and I immediately began trying to figure out how I could approach him without coming across as some kind of crazed stalker. His stand-out, unique style was unforgettable and I had to find a way to document it. Welcome to the life of a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. It’s a labor of love.
I honestly don’t remember what caught my attention first. It quickly became a tie between the bold graphic crewneck sweater, the statement necklace, the snap-back and the faux-leather pants. I think what I loved most was the way that every piece came together in a way that made the busyness of the outfit look simplistic. There was so much going on, in all the right ways.
Where do I even start with his accessories game? His bold sweater and leather pants were already loud, so this Fashionisto decided to go all out with the details. He confidently donned a snap-back, Timberland boots, black leather backpack, chunky necklace and a bling-ed out watch. I loved that he stayed loyal to a monochromatic color scheme but made it interesting by adding complementary mustard yellow details. My favorite little detail was the yellow handkerchief that he had tucked into his back pocket.
Spotted: Speaking of unforgettable, the Lanvin fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection is full of lush fabrics, interesting textures and intriguingly bizarre accessories. Don’t be afraid to stand out in your own way.
