ACCESSORIES REPORT: Wild For Woodstock

Accessories Report

It may not be the 1970s and The Sonny and Cher Show may not be the highlight of your weekday night, but it seems like times haven’t even changed after seeing the latest trends on the streets to the runways; no one can seem to get the 1970’s out of their heads.

A common trend seen in fashion is that it is constantly repeating itself, but who would have thought that the hippie free spirited looks that were once seen, as something extremely out of the extraordinary would now be the ordinary? The newest spotted trend on campus is flared jeans, whether they are being worn in the most southern of ways with a classic cowboy boot or by adding a little hippie to an outfit with clogs and lace top. This Fashionista is showing off her hippie side by wearing her dark wash, flare bell bottom jeans, along with a cream crochet top and brown wedges. She pairs her clothing with perfect turquoise stone, teardrop earrings match with her earth toned color palette. This Fashionista adds gold bangles, a matching watch to continue the bohemian look, and though out of place from true 1970s trends, her classic Louis Vuitton handbag completes the outfit.

It is great to see trends be revived and even better when they are paired with modern or classic favorites. While Free People and Lucky Brand might be recreating these 1970s looks, it might not be a bad idea to take a look into your mom or dads closets and maybe you’ll be recreating the next vintage trend of your own.

Spotted: Anna Sui showing off her bohemian side in her spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection.
