It is official: we are in the army now. The camouflage trend that popped up this spring has gone full force this fall. Everyone from Kenzo to Valentino have put their spin on the iconic print. But there is a fine line between embracing the trend in a chic-cool way and looking like the latest ROTC recruit on campus.
Guys are always more reticent to embrace a trend—especially a bold print. However, the camo print already has a built in masculine-factor given its roots in the armed forces. So if there was one trend tailor-made for Fashionistos this fall, it has to be camo.
The key to tackling this trend is to opt for one bold piece, like this Fashionisto’s tote. At first glance, the bag almost looks like it is simply a khaki colored tote. The color palette of this camouflage is more subtle. But upon further inspection, the camo print is a nice and welcome surprise. By opting for a tote rather then a backpack, it elevates the print into something chic and fashion-forward.
The great thing about camo is that it can go with just about anything. This Fashionisto’s tote enhances his otherwise polished look. Even though the rest of his ensemble is in the navy and blue color family, the camo still complements his outfit.
This fall, get behind the camo trend by opting for masculine yet stylish accessories. It will “totes” pay off, Fashionistos.
