One thing I love about studying in Barcelona is the variety of styles on any given day. You have tourists from all over Europe walking through campus, you have some Fashionistas/os dressed to the nines for class and because we’re so close to the beach there’s never a shortage of long boarders and nautical colors. The hodgepodge of style gives off an air that is very distinctly Barcelona and I can’t get enough of it! One thing that everyone in all of his or her different styles has in common is no matter what he or she is clutching on to some sort of oversized bag. After all a day of classes, and an afternoon in the city or by the sea, can call for a lot of bag stuffing.
This week’s Fashionisto chooses the perfect canvas backpack for his day to day needs in college. It’s refreshing to not see every guy sporting a black North Face book bag, and even more refreshing that they’re not all wearing Nikes and oversized sweatpants either! His backpack adds a nice pop of color to any outfit this spring. The olive color is a great shade to work through the summer and into the fall as well like this Benrus sentry canvas backpack with leather trimming in olive, available at Nordstrom. If you don’t like the bulkiness of the sentry design I highly recommend this chic United By Blue scout backpack available in navy and moss. Double plus: every time this bag is purchased United By Blue will remove one pound of trash from oceans and waterways around the world. I love when fashion meets philanthropy!
This Fashionisto rocks the tailored meets grunge look that we are seeing on runways everywhere. He looks great in his Brixton hamilton snapback and easily dresses up when it’s time to take the hat off. He said that if he knows he’s going somewhere and he needs to look cleaned up after class he will add a blazer or sweater to his look and he’s good to go!
Spotted: If you love the marriage of tailored and grunge too you should be sure to check out the rag & bone fall 2014 menswear collection.
