Thanksgiving coming and going marks several new beginnings. Not only is Christmas music now socially acceptable to play out loud, but it’s also playing in stores. Twinkle lights and holiday wreathes hang around trees and bannisters and Santa has set up shop in the foyer of shopping malls around the country. However, Santa and his elves aren’t the only ones flocking to shopping centers.
After Black Friday (a shopper’s combination of dream come true and worst nightmare), no store is safe from the hoards of holiday shoppers. What’s worse is that there comes a time when we all must succumb to the hoards and join them in the quest for perfect gifts. I am one to use a “mom bag” when I run errands. My black XL Longchamp holds everything from pens and gum to a sewing kit. However, when I mean business and am planning for excess baggage, I swap out my carryall bag for a slim cross-body option.
With just enough room for a cell phone, lip gloss, cash and credit cards, these bags are the best options for being amongst the hustle and bustle of this time of year. This Fashionista’s two-tone piece works well with an endless number of outfits and will still work for spring when the gloom of winter passes. A neutral, leather bag with a clasp or zipper, like our Fashionista’s, is a great option and can transition easily between looks and from day to night.
A small slim bag is also a perfect choice for a night out on the town. There are some things you just can’t leave the house without, but it’s a challenge to be the life of the party with a phone and set of keys in hand. Luckily, there are glamorous dance-floor-approved cross-body and shoulder bags to house your precious possessions.
