If my L.A. friends would let me, I would walk everywhere. I’m used to the bustling compact cities of London and New York where I’m a short jog from a subway at any given second. Because of this, I’m not a big fan of having to drive anywhere. Positively, I’m actually getting a lot more wear and tear out of my shoes, but we all have that one pair of shoes that we wear everywhere and have owned for years. Regardless of how frayed the laces are and how worn away the sole is — we still choose to wear them everyday. This Fashionista shows off that sentiment with her dark brown, desert boots (a style that I’ve come to love). Desert boots usually come in suede, but I love the distressed and vintage glossy leather that this Fashionista rocks!
Now, lets talk hands and wrists! This Fashionista was sporting so many differently shaped and sized rings that donned abundant metals and stones. Rings are another wonderful example of how personality can shine through style choices — each item of jewelry having its own original story. A beautiful brown leather bound watch paired with rope friendship bracelets and gold bangles resulted in an overall exciting conglomeration of trinkets. I’m a huge fan of pinky finger rings, and the statement turquoise stone this Fashionista sports echoed her blue ornate silk shirt charmingly.
Finally, the oversized cargo/army backpack that finished off this Fashionista’s outfit was perfectly in tune with the distressed look of her boots, as well as, her denim cut-off shorts. I loved how the backpacks tomboyish nature juxtaposed her delicate and decorative patterned shirt and jewelry. It was another way of showing how you can add some edge and grime to an outfit, while still looking stylish and refined. With her comfortable shoes and ‘hold-everything’ bag, this Fashionista was ready to hike across campus to get to class, or even walk all the way to Downtown LA — and turn a lot of heads along the way!
