I am a firm believer that you can never have enough black. Ever since I discovered the black clothing section of Limited Too in middle school I never looked back. What is not to love? It matches everything, is slimming and never goes out of style. But when it comes to jewelry there are only two options, gold or silver. Just like ice cream, you either like chocolate or vanilla, there is no in-between. I am personally a silver studded chocolate lover. The pairing of silver jewels and a black ensemble is one of the best there is. No matter the trends or season, you will always look polished. This Fashionista proved my point. Her outfit includes a black “Nueva York” top, fitted black skirt, black beanie, a floral cross-body bag and strappy black sandals. She paired this with silver rings and a hand bangle.
Stacking jewelry has been a popular trend on campus lately, especially arm candy, but many times smaller pieces like rings are overlooked. I love how this Fashionista stuck to one palette but added variety at the same time. She has a rectangular ring, a knuckle ring, a thick band and then a very thin silver ring. Pairing the hand bangle with the eclectic rings lets you try a new trend without really stepping out of your comfort zone.
You can easily pull this off with any look. Even though I love the all-black style, even just a T-shirt and jeans would work. Try it out with your own style and see what is best for you. For all you gold lovers check out these from Etsy. Or if you want to really explore the look, try this knuckle ring or this one from ASOS with some added color. Whatever you do, remember, the more rings the better!
Spotted: Chanel featured silver rings on almost all of their models in their fall 2013 couture collection. Also, similar versions of this Fashionista’s shoes and cross-body can be found in 3.1 Phillip Lim’s spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection.
