There has been a lot of controversy regarding men and handbags. Some men see it as very feminine to wear a bag, others who are more fashion-conscious opt for these fabulous bags. I think, like women, these bags can make or break an outfit and I believe men should take advantage of this great accessory.
In this case, this Fashionisto went for a small, tan, leather satchel. The bag adds a little oomph to his outfit and really complements his casual and relaxed look. His messenger bag also looks extremely sturdy and durable, good to hold a laptop or the insanely heavy books you have to carry around campus.
The cool thing about these types of bags is that they are unisex. Whether you are a girl or a boy, you can get away with carrying one of these around. If you’d like to try a man bag out, you can go with this brown messenger bag, similar to the one in the photo from J.Crew or if you want to go a completely different route, you can try this camouflage with orange detailing one from Jack Spade.
Aside from the controversy, there are man bags for all types of men. I would love to see more of these around college campuses and have the guys at school be a bit more fashionable. It would certainly make for better dressed eye-candy, wouldn’t it?
Spotted: The man bag was seen all over the rag & bone spring/summer 2014 runway and hint, they weren’t on men!
