Last week’s Fashionisto showed that layering a vest over a basic tee can elevate an outfit and this week’s Fashionisto is proving that if you find one in faux fur, it can do that and so much more. A texture like fur is not only weather appropriate but it also adds edge and personality.
Furs return on every fall runway we see. This is because it is a timeless texture and it seems to be one of the only ways to remain stylish and warm at the same time. On the fall 2012 runways we saw Dries Van Noten, Giorgio Armani and even Versace give the glamorous texture new shapes and colors. The 2013 fall runways seem to be headed in the same direction as well. With this being said, I think that for the remainder of the winter season it would be great to add a fur element like the vest to your wardrobe. This is a piece that you will be donning for seasons to come, so go ahead and invest.
To further explore the look that this Fashionisto is sporting and the array of cool accessories that he used here, I want to start off with his amazing statement necklace. What I love about it is that it makes a big impact on the attitude of this outfit, all the while breaking up the all-black canvas and giving the look some visual interest. In no way is this look short on the details. This here, ladies and gentlemen, is a lesson on layering and great accessorizing
Some other cool things to note is his worn leather messenger bag and the lace up leather boots. I found a similar version of his boots here at Express. For a pop of color he added a red beanie, ASOS has one here that is very affordable. For a similar take on the leather messenger bag, I suggest this one from ASOS as well. To top it all off you’ll need a statement necklace and this one from Topman does the job nicely. To complete the look try this faux fur hoddie vest from Etsy fellas. Iif you want something more understated try this fur collared coat here from Allegra K Men.
Spotted: The D&G fall 2011 men’s collection showed fur vests and coats that were edgy and cool.
