ACCESSORIES REPORT: The Bling Rings

Accessories Report

It’s time to dial in your digits and ring up your fingers because today’s ACCESSORIES REPORT is all about rings! Simple, minimalist rings to be exact. Sometimes it’s the little things that make your style stand out and this Fashionista is the perfect example of less is more.

Her outfit, composed of a sheer black floral top and loose denim boyfriend jeans is low key and oh-so-cool and acts as the perfect backdrop to her choice of accessories. It’s obvious that this Fashionista is an accessories master judging by her stylish addition of layered crystal pendant necklaces, blue reflective sunglasses and lip ring to her outfit, but it’s a different bunch of rings that I can’t help but be in awe over.

Minimalist rings, when worn in multiples, create a statement look all on their own, and I adore the four that this Fashionista has mixed and matched for her look. Stacking rings has become really popular lately and are a great way to wear accessories in the upcoming music festival season because who wants to deal with big accessories when you’re singing along to your favourite band anyway? I love that each of this Fashionista’s rings are different. She’s rocking a spiked ring, midi ring, an eye-catching bird’s claw ring and a dark band. Even though each hold their own as a statement piece, they complement each other perfectly for an even more stand-out look.

It just goes to show that wearing a bunch of small rings is just as gorgeous as wearing a statement ring, which in my opinion, tend to get in the way, knock against things and make writing and typing difficult. To all you hands-on and creative Fashionistas like this lovely lady and me, wearing a set of rings is the perfect accessory for you. Plus you can often buy little rings like this Fashionista’s in an already made-to-match set. What could be more perfect, really?

For foolproof finger fashion, try a trio of rings in gold, silver and rose gold for a mismatched look, or slip on a set of quirky motif rings. Rings don’t have to be worn close to the knuckle either; midi rings are a fun micro trend to try for a carefree and stylish look.

Spotted: The ever classy Chanel has been all over the layered ring trend, introducing a fresh take on the look with nail, knuckle and finger rings scattered throughout their fall 2013 couture collection.
