Finally, we can say that spring has officially sprung at Middlebury. The ice and snow has mostly melted away, and we have consistently been hitting the 50-degree mark every day. For us, that’s warm (contrary to the opinion any California readers I may have—I remember the days 50-degrees was meant for peacoats and UGG boots). At Midd, we’re shedding our winter gear in favor for light cardigans, floral dresses and for some, even flip flops. I encountered this Fashionista looking stylish in gold, white and black tones (you know that’s my favorite color scheme).
This Fashionista decided to use her Coach tote bag (you can find a more modern version here) as the focal point of her whole ensemble and created a color scheme based on the colors of her bag. The day we photographed, it was pretty windy, so a scarf was necessary to keep warm from the wind-chill factor. However, even her scarf goes with the color scheme of gold or beige, white and black. With a pretty plaid pattern, the scarf brings life to the solid color blocks of beige and black in the rest of her look.
Now that spring’s finally here, tote bags are a great accessory to have when you walk across campus. There’s no fear of snow getting into all your books and notes, so it’s another excuse to look cute when going to class. Oversized tote bags are easy to find, and they come in all colors, shapes, sizes and prints.
Spotted: Tote bags were featured in the Coach spring 2014 collection.
