I spotted this Fashionista on campus this week pairing her outfit with a unique accessory that most people won’t try because, let’s just say, they don’t want to look like Urkel. Well, don’t worry; this is an eye-catching trend that only a few daring Fashionistas and Fashionistos will try. Usually when a Fashionisto or Fashionista picks out his or her accessories, suspenders are probably not the first piece that come to mind. In fact, I would not be surprised if most don’t even own a pair.
But hey, what is there to not like about suspenders. It is a stylish trend that is available in a variety of colors and prints, can be worn all year round and, best of all, holds your pants up without wearing a belt all of the time. After seeing this trendsetter’s look, I actually like the trend since one can wear it with a variety of outfits, such as with skirts and shorts. One way to wear suspenders is exactly the way this college student did.
She is sporting a more casual look that consists of a white tank top and black jeans that can sometimes look dull without any accessories. These suspenders transformed her look giving her a more fashion forward and fun vibe. This Fashionista’s other accessories also caught my eye. I loved her chic, patent red flats. I found two pairs of flats that I hope you Fashionista’s will like to get this look. One is from Nine West and the other from Nordstrom.
She is also wearing various jewelry statement pieces, such as her long necklace and earrings. Both of these pieces complemented her look by dressing up her outfit and are flattering with the suspenders. This Fashionista also decided to stack on some cute chunky bracelets to complete her look while she is off to class. I overall love this stylish college student’s look and can’t wait to see this trend hopefully become more popular this spring.
Spotted: This accessory was featured in Giorgio Armani’s fall 2013 runway and Issa’s pre-fall 2014 runaway. This daring yet stylish accessory is only going to turn more heads especially since we are seeing this trend becoming more popular on future runaways.
