Summer is a great season for some of your favorite accessories to come out and play. The copious layers of sweaters ands scarves are no longer hiding them and the glaring sunshine only calls for more of them — specifically your sunglasses. Since many of us want to preserve our eyesight until we have to wear glasses permanently, it’s a wise idea to wear sunglasses in the meantime. This is certainly not a problem since sunglasses come in every size, shape, color and texture. So take advantage of the sunny weather and sport some bold eyewear like today’s Fashionista has done.
This Fashionista is wearing a perfectly light ensemble for the hot weather. Instead of wearing a heavy pair of jeans, she opts for a pair of silk drawstring pants that are great for keeping cool all summer. She coordinates the rest of her ensemble with shades of white, blue and brown with her sandals, purse and adorable navy striped sweater. The pops of bright white in her textured tank top and sunglasses also help lighten up her look and keep it nice and summery.
While I love her entire ensemble, her sunglasses are what really stand out to me. The oversized shape and shiny white frames give them that extra pop and complement the rest of her look flawlessly. She also subtly incorporates the monochromatic trend by matching the bolder shade of white with her top and glasses. Mixing shades of one or two colors in your look is a great way to play around with the monochromatic trend without completely committing.
If you are a fan of the monochromatic trend but haven’t tried it yet, start with matching your sunglasses with one or more pieces in your outfit. You can keep it extra simple with a solid red dress, a pair of heeled sandals and red Ray-Bans. For more of a statement, you could go with these UO Sweetheart Sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. If you want to incorporate more colors and shades in your look, coordinate your glasses with a top or sweater like today’s Fashionista has done. Try pairing these Quay Black & White Square Sunglasses from ASOS with a textured white top, a high-waisted skirt and similarly toned sandals.
