ACCESSORIES REPORT: Spring Fling

Accessories Report

As spring break approaches for the University of Illinois, students around campus are preparing for a week without school. And with the weather starting to warm up, there is a boost in everyone’s step. Students are leaving behind their hats and gloves and trading them in for bracelets and headbands.

I spotted this Fashionista heading out on a particularly sunny school day. What drew me to this Fashionista was her gold clutch. A clutch is small, so there is only enough room to hold the necessities. However, clutches help to personalize an outfit. This clutch gives the outfit a hint of elegance with the gold beaded texture. Clutches are an easy find, whether you are looking for a classic or a trendy style.

On a warm spring day, this Fashionista chose to stick with a knit sweater and a pair of black leggings. This Fashionista spruces up her simple outfit with several jewelry pieces. She adds a gold bangle bracelet, which complements the beige tone of her sweater. Bangle bracelets are incredibly popular because they are an easy fit and you can wear multiple on the same arm. On her hand, this Fashionista wears a unique oversized ring. She proves that a trendy ring can act as a piece of statement jewelry, as I was immediately drawn to the ring’s interesting design.

With the snow finally melting away, students are left with more choices for footwear when traveling around campus. This Fashionista opts for a pair of black combat boots. However, these boots stand out because they are gold studded. A pair of combat boots are a necessity because they can be worn with any type of outfit, whether it be a vintage look or a more classic style.

Spotted: Isabel Marant’s spring 2011 collection features a lot of simple jewelry pieces that are perfect for spring.
