With the numerous music festivals occurring nationwide throughout the warmer months, we can see a bohemian edge making its way back into people’s wardrobes. There is something perfect about topping off a glowing tan with layers of boho jewelry and a breezy summer dress. But you don’t have to be SXSW or Coachella-bound to rock the trend. Brightly colored jewelry pieces, particularly those with Southwestern flair, work well with a range of summer ensembles.
I spotted this Fashionista sitting in the grass doing some reading for a class. Her fresh face and simple hair provided the perfect canvas for a natural look. Maxi dresses are currently a hot trend, and this Fashionista’s white maxi dress looked effortless. Her oversized turquoise pendant and rings popped against the white of the dress, creating a wow factor. Friendship, beaded and metal bracelets were heaped on her wrists, giving her look an extra sense of individuality. Continuing with her personalized bohemian flair were a lightweight, tie-dyed scarf and a one-of-a-kind woven cross-body bag from Peru. The result was an ensemble that made me think of blue skies and folk rock, the ideal summer combination.
Etsy has some great inexpensive turquoise jewelry, like this pendant here, much of which are unique pieces. You can easily find a piece of jewelry that will brighten up any day. Be sure to experiment with turquoise accessories this season for a look that will mimic the beautiful summer sun.
