A trend that started a while back, gladiator sandals, has almost become a common find in every Fashionista’s closet. While acting supportive, this style of shoes has evolved to flatter shorts, cuffed jeans and even dresses. Although they don’t fully mimic what the Greeks would wear, the neutral colors are something that have remained the same. This makes them very easily adaptable to any outfit. For someone in the city, gladiators are perfect since they’re sandals but are also not completely unbearable to walk in. Urban Outfitters has a simple version of this sandal that still has the thong feature so that the shoe doesn’t slide off of your foot-especially when you’re in a hurry! But Sam Edelman has sandals that really accentuate the gladiator trend and come very close to the shoes featured by this Fashionista.
Spotted on the run, this Fashionista was rushing off to class at Seattle University. Although in a total hurry, she did a fabulous job of putting together a casual and summery outfit that could have been adapted from class to coffee. With a simple gray shirt and some high-waisted shorts, she made this outfit a fashionable one with the help of all sorts of accessories. Her backpack quickly identified her as a student, but she kept it chic with a leather bag that only further flattered her outfit. She sported some adorable peach-toned sunglasses that had some hints of the sunglasses you could find at a vintage thrift store. To tie the whole outfit together, she rocked some gladiator-inspired sandals that kept it neutral yet trendy.
Overall she was able to maintain a neutral look that had a strong balance of all of her different accessories. Gladiator sandals are perfect because they usually are the more comfortable shoes of the fashionable group. Most especially the leather ones, since they get broken in and become really soft! So as a current defender of the fashion life, gladiators are more than appropriate when sporting a casual summer outfit.
Spotted: Haider Ackermann featured gladiator sandals relative to summer looks.
