Everywhere on campus, I can easily spot out two or three Fashionistos sporting the baseball cap, more particularly, the snapback, which is an adjustable flat-brimmed version of the topper. This hat is a sartorial staple of a cherished American pastime. And while it isn’t Major League Baseball season yet, this sporty accessory has been dominating on its own and gaining popularity, breaking through to showrooms and runways.
This Fashionisto embraces this movement with his customized black snapback, giving his outfit an edgy, cool vibe. The rest of his outfit can be described as classically preppy. He’s has his black sweater over a collared shirt ensemble and matches these with a pair of khaki pants and black shoes. He tops this outfit off with a plaid leather jacket; plaid, the preppiest of patterns.
This outfit can easily be transformed for a Fashionista by following the same guidelines as this Fashionisto. First off, wear a collared shirt over a sweater, or if you get hot easily, just wear a fabric collar necklace over the sweater. Then pair these with some khaki chinos (try ankle length ones to stay on trend) and some black shoes, preferably oxfords for the ultimate prep vibe. Top it off with an edgy snapback and you’ve got this Fashionisto’s outfit mastered.
Black is a typical safe color to go to for hats, to stand out try a metallic gold one or floral for that hipster feel. Snapbacks can go with any everyday outfit to spice it up a little. Wearing it backwards seems to be the most common way to wear these caps. Feeling rebellious? Wear it with the brim to the side for an even edgier look.
