Accessories Report

Believe it or not, fashion owes a lot of its trends to the skater subculture. From loose fitting shirts and staple sneakers to the carefree attitude, fashion would not be the same. There are a few skating brands that made their way to mainstream fashion, most notably Vans. I remember I loved their checkered slip-ons, but a newer brand called Supra Footwear is steadily on the rise.

This Fashionisto looked put together for summer classes. He paired his on-trend printed polo T-shirt with dark denim jeans and blue Supra Skytops. His extensive collection of pins on his backpack are a nice touch as well. I love that Supras are not only are skate shoes, but are a great every day shoe. So when you’re done tearing it up at the skate park you can easily change your sweaty shirt but keep wearing fashionable sneakers.

Since Supras come in a wide array of colors, you can have a pair to go with any outfit. They even recently started designing women’s shoes as well. My favorite are these fluorescent pink Skytops. I would wear them with a white patterned tank top and some denim cut-offs. If for some reason you’re not down with the classic Supra Skytop, don’t worry because they have a huge variety of other styles. The Skytop III and the Assault are some worthy picks for summer.

Spotted: Check out Supra-esque style sneakers in Christopher Raeburn’s spring 2014 menswear collection. I love the refreshing neutrals, which are perfect for summer.
