For many of us, college is not our sole concern. As artists and designers, there are always inspiring side projects that catch our interests. In our little sandbox–Bahrain–we are currently in the process of launching a huge art festival. It has been quite hectic in the past few weeks, as everyone is running errands and being stuck in a studio space getting work done. For such days all you need is a minimalistic outfit–something that is easy to move in yet, gives the impression of a future artist.
For few years, accessories trends were leaning more toward gold instead of silver, but fashion is never stagnant. Thus as the monochromatic trend became popular, silver accessories became a favorite to pair with one’s outfit.
I met this week’s Fashionista the other day while she was working on her photography project, and couldn’t help but notice her interesting accessories choices. She was wearing a knitted grey shirt, dark blue skinny jeans, paired with white loafers and a colorblocked cross-body bag. Her accessories were all variations of silver–from her earrings, to the rings, necklaces, bracelets and watch.
The way this Fashionista styled her outfit is definitely on-trend this season. Many designers, like Pierre Hardy and Miu Miu, have adapted this look in their collections. Also, many retail shops are selling more affordable designs, such as these gorgeous shoes from Zara and Topshop. Metallic shoes go with everything in your closet, and can be worn in different occasions from a date night to a morning class.
Simple silver jewelry is always a safe choice as they never go out of style though out the years. But this season they are coming in different shapes and options, I like this signature skull bracelet from Alexander McQueen and this Bottega Veneta ring.
Spotted: 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes in spring 2013 ready to wear collection. The perfect metallic.
