Like many, I am a creature of habit. I go to the same three restaurants, listen to the same few songs on repeat and even wear the same basic outfit pretty much everyday. That outfit is usually not complete without a wrist full of dainty gold bracelets. Gold jewelry has been my go-to for several seasons now that I have seemed to neglected it’s counterpart: silver jewelry.
But when I spotted this Fashionista sporting a bunch of chic silver jewelry, I was refreshed and reminded how much I love this more subdued metal. Silver usually connotes second place, but not this season. Given the heavy influence of the metallic trend in fashion as of late, silver is quickly looking to capture the number one spot.
I was especially taken by this Fashionista’s silver necklace. The crescent moon shape of the hardware has a ease to it that really balances out her look. The simple silhouette of the necklace looks great with her pencil skirt and T-shirt, only furthering the elegance of the look. However, the silhouette is also extremely versatile. A simple silver necklace like this would look equally as great with a pair of jeans and a graphic sweatshirt as it would with a LBD. That’s just one of the many things that is so great about silver!
When shopping for some statement necklaces for back to school, be sure to pick up a few simpler silver pieces as well. You will be surprised how much of an impact these dainty pieces have.
Spotted: Rebecca Minkoff added some bling to her silver necklaces giving the classic shape a modern feel.
