In seasons past, gaudy watches were considered the must-have accessory. Big watch faces lined with rhinestones were attached to bright colored plastic bands mimicking authentic Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs watches. Some people purchased these watches to match a certain outfit while others simply had them to sit in their drawers. Whether or not you jumped on the faux designer watch bandwagon (I have to admit that I did too), I am pleased to say that genuine watches are beginning to make a major come back just in time for fall.
The gold round-faced watch being worn by the Fashionista above is a prime example. Paired with a blush cap sleeved blouse and navy high-waisted shorts, the watch was not the only thing that made this Fashionista ooze with class. The gold of her watch perfectly complemented the sophisticated pairing of blush and navy while her simple bow diamond ring and strappy white wedges added a crisp touch to her outfit.
What I loved most about this Fashionista’s accessories is their simplicity. The watch worn on her right wrist had a very slim band with a small rectangular design near the face of the watch. This added an element of both interest and femininity. The watch’s skinny band is a refreshing change of pace compared to the thick and heavy bands we are used to seeing.
A way great to take this look even further would be by layering this watch with other similar watches, varying band width and face shape as you layer. Wearing a watch with a set of gold bangles is another great way to add a little extra something to your look. Who knows, maybe a cute guy will notice your awesome accessory and you ask for the time!
