It’s always hard to find that one accessory that has enough edge to be in style but is neutral enough to work its way into multiple outfits. Simple pieces are great, but everyone likes a piece that can spice things up. An element that I’ve seen on everyone lately is studs. I see them on shirts and jackets and on every piece of jewelry you can imagine. Some are more hard edge studs, like something you would see at an underground show while others are something that even the preppiest of Fashionistas can wear.
I spotted this Fashionista on a sunny day at Misericordia. She tucked a chambray shirt into mint green jeans. Paired with a sequin tan tank and Sperry Top-Siders, her studded watch was the perfect accessory. Her outfit was casual enough for a day of class, but cool enough to make a statement no one would forget.
For other Fashionistas searching for the perfect studded accessory start with a color palette. For those looking for a watch like this Fashionista’s try the Studded Leather Runway Watch from Michael Kors. The watch with brown leather band and rose gold face and studs has the perfect amount of edge mixed with a classic feel. It could be an accessory worn to an internship now, and work when you score the full time job after graduation. If you’re in to studs but not the watch element, try Forever 21’s Studded Wraparound Bracelet. The bracelet has different sized studs, so when it wraps around it looks like multiple bracelets, rather than just one, which is super cool in my book. For Fashionistas looking for studs without the wrapped style, try searching for a large cuffed piece. Vince Camuto’s Studded Leather Bracelet would be perfect for a night out with the girls. It’s offered in three different colors so any Fashionista can find one that will suit her taste.
We all know that taste is an important factor when searching for studs.
Spotted: Studs are even found on the runway, rag & bone featured studded bracelets in their fall 2013 collection, which means they’re here to stay for at least another season.
