Scarves have always played a vital part in any Fashionista’s wardrobe. You can dress them up or dress them down, and now you can even wrap them around your head or tie them around your favorite bag. An emerging trend, and one that I have taken advantage of myself, is using scarves as head wraps which is great for the spring or summer in order to keep the hair out of your face in the hot weather. I even splurged on a Henri Bendel scarf on Fashion’s Night Out to tie around my tote that I carry to class! Get creative with your scarves this spring and summer, and you’ll be surprised at how many people will embrace the new trend.
As you can see in the photos, this Fashionista wasn’t afraid to take on both trends by wearing a scarf around her neck and tying another around her purse. Infinity scarves are definitely a big trend on the Marist campus and they are a good investment because you can wear them with sweats or even a stylish outfit. This Fashionista rocked her scarf with a fur vest and a pair of riding boots on this chilly winter day. She also stylishly mixed the print on her sweater with the scarf. They worked well together because the print on the scarf was subtle and matched the color of her boots. Keep that mind when pairing both a printed sweater and scarf together so your outfit doesn’t look too busy. Add a stack of bangles to complete the look and you’ll be ready to weather the cold walk to class!
When it comes to finding the right scarf to wrap around your handbag, look for one that’s not too long and thick. You want to make sure you don’t have too much extra fabric so that it lays just right on your purse. Be original like this Fashionista, who discovered her vintage scarf in a thrift store while on vacation in California. Little treasures can pop up wherever you shop, so be sure to keep your eyes open. Whether you splurge on a designer scarf like I did or find one in a thrift store like this Fashionista, dress up your bag this spring by making it patterned and bright!
